Among the exuberant Andover High School seniors graduating on Monday evening were three A Better Chance students who have come to Andover and have made an indelible and positive mark on the school and this community— Ariel Leachman, Fatouma Koné and Xonatia Lee.
Earlier in the day Ariel received an award for Excellence in Psychology during the Senior Awards Assembly and Breakfast held at the Andover Country Club. Ariel's mother, Paulette, and ABC supporters were in the audience to cheer the recognition of her hard work.
All three students joined their class of 417 members at Paul E. Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell on Monday evening for the graduation ceremony. Their mothers, extended families, friends drove up from New York City and joined the well-wishers filling the Tsongas Center to cheer on Ariel, Xonatia and Fatouma. Each wore an exuberant smile as she walked across the stage and accepted her diploma.
After the graduation ceremony, all three families, host families and members of the board gathered at Cynthia Marsh’s home for a celebratory dinner and heartfelt goodbyes. Congratulations to our three newest alumni!
