Congratulations to Fatouma Koné on completing The MIT Leadership Training Institute program, a highly selective 12 week service-focused high school mentorship that takes place on the MIT campus. The interactive curriculum emphasizes leadership, community, self awareness and sustainability.
In collaboration with her MIT mentor, Fatouma started the Andover chapter of “Girl Talk”, a national organization designed to pair female high school and middle school students for mentorship. Fatouma recently presented her project for approval to an Executive Board at MIT, which endorsed her project as one that will have lasting impact.
Fatouma will continue to work with three teachers at Andover High to implement the program locally. Andover High girls will be paired with girls from all three Andover middle schools to mentor them during after school hours. Well done Fatouma!
