For Arbor Day 2016, Retelle Tree Corp donated expert tree care at our historic ABC home.
The residence at 134 Main St which serves as a dormitory for local non-profit A Better Chance of Andover was the recipient of expert tree care by Retelle Tree Corp of Andover, MA.
Owner Peter Retelle and his team donated their services as part of the Massachusetts Arborists Association (MAA) statewide Arbor Day of Service on Friday April 29, 2016.
Retelle's third-generation family business has helped maintain ABC trees before so Peter and Lindsey proposed the Arbor Day plan after doing a springtime check-up. Riki expertly maneuvered the team's new "Big Blue" 50-ton crane to remove two large dead trees. Climber, crane operator, cutting and ground crews all worked in safe and efficient synchronization.
A Better Chance of Andover, a non-profit program has been closing the education gap for students of color in American society since 1967 and greatly relies on the support of local businesses like Retelle Tree Corp.
ABC President Susan Connolly remarked, "Peter's been a good friend of the program for many years. We try to take good care of our property on a limited budget and this gesture in honor of Arbor Day is truly appreciated." Both founded in 1967, Retelle Tree Corp and A Better Chance of Andover will be celebrating 50 year anniversaries next year.
