Each September, students look ahead to their school year with excitement. This fall, ABC board members decided to capitalize on that energy and, on a sunny September afternoon, gathered for a retreat to begin the process of planning an enriching, positive year for the ABC scholars. Over the course of the afternoon, many ideas bubbled to the surface and there was an aura of enthusiasm as opportunities and challenges were discussed. Board members focused on building upon four key elements to the ABC program’s success: the experience of our students, our relationship with Andover High School, our standing in the Andover community, and our connection with our donors.
Looking ahead to celebrating the 50th anniversary of Andover ABC in just a few years, the Board recognized that students, volunteers, and donors who have been a part of Andover ABC over the past four decades have each contributed to building a vital organization that has positively shaped the lives of many students. The Board intends to build upon these contributions and develop a strategic plan to shape the organization for the next decade.
