The ABC students sleepily greeted ABC adult volunteers at 7am last Saturday to load up truckloads of donations for the town wide tag sale in the Park. Clothes, toys, books, kitchen appliances and household goods filled two tables and flowed off a giant tarp when all was unloaded at the Park and the sellers and browsers started coming by.
The sunshine brought out the shoppers who found some great clothing and toy deals. The girls were outstanding bargainers and clerks, and as a bonus were able to negotiate in Spanish with several Hispanic shoppers. All of the girls gain confidence in both their selling and negotiating skills throughout the morning.
In totally $351 was raised for the ABC program. Special thanks to Monique for organizing the event, Nancy Vogler for marshalling the adult volunteers and Janis Hill who would do anything for a sale including delivering furniture post sale!
