The early morning rain showers gave way to pristine fall day as A Better Chance scholars and supporters celebrated their annual Art in the Park “friendraising” event. Art in the Park, sponsored by the Andover Artistʼs Guild, brings 60 local artists together in the Park at Chestnut and Bartlett Streets. The Andover ABC program is the sole provider of food and beverage, offering artists and art lovers a steady supply of coffee, soda, hamburgers, hotdogs, chips and a wide array of delicious home-baked goodies. This yearʼs event took place on the same day as Andover Day, which brought 1000ʼs of people to downtown Andover and to the Park.
The scholars are an integral part of the day--joining board members early in the day to assist in the set up, to make signs, to host the bake sale, to collect money and most importantly, to connect with the community and greet friends of the program old and new.
ABC grossed over $1000 for the day, which will go towards programs.
